About Harry Black

Award-winning novelist Harry Black (b.1968 -) is an English writer of historical and political fiction. An author, whose work explores history’s moral fault lines and the human cost of secrecy, conflict and survival.

He grew up in England with a deep fascination for history, not the grand narratives alone, but the quieter, often overlooked moments where private lives collide with public catastrophe. That sensibility underpins his fiction, which is characterised by slow-burn tension, emotional restraint, and an attention to what is left unsaid as much as what is revealed.
