Print Distribution

Every book is produced to the specifications IngramSpark and Gardners require, the two networks UK bookshops, libraries and wholesalers order through, since a book that only exists on Amazon has no route into a physical shop even if the author wants one later. This keeps bookshop and library placement genuinely available to every author, not just a possibility mentioned in passing.

How Books Reach Bookshops

IngramSpark and Gardners are the two networks UK bookshops, libraries and wholesalers actually order print books through. Producing a book to their specifications means it can be ordered by any bookshop or library that wants to stock it, rather than only being available through a single retailer’s own listing.

Included as Standard

Listing through IngramSpark and Gardners is part of every quotation, not an optional extra an author has to request separately. Every print book is set up for bookshop and wholesale ordering from the outset.

Through the Author's Own Account

Distribution is set up under the author’s own account, not Britannia’s. Royalties from every sale go directly to the author, with full visibility into what’s sold and what’s been paid, and the book remains the author’s own asset throughout.

Print on Demand

Books are produced through true print-on-demand, meaning no physical stock is held or warehoused at any stage. A copy is only printed once a reader or bookshop actually orders it, which removes any need for the author to buy, store or manage stock themselves.

How Bookshops Can Order

Once listed, a bookshop can order a copy directly by ISBN, the same way they’d order any other book. An author who arranges their own stocking deal with a local or independent bookshop only needs to share the ISBN, not deliver physical copies themselves.

FAQs

Yes. It's included as part of every quotation, not something an author needs to add on separately.

No. Books are produced through print-on-demand, so no stock is held anywhere, copies are printed only once ordered.

Being listed through IngramSpark and Gardners means any bookshop can order the book by ISBN, the same as they would any other title, but the decision to stock it sits with each individual shop. If an author arranges their own deal with a bookshop, they only need to share the ISBN, not deliver physical copies.

The author does, directly. Distribution runs through the author's own IngramSpark and Gardners account, so royalties are paid to the author, not routed through Britannia first.

Yes. Because listing runs through IngramSpark, one of the largest print-on-demand and distribution networks globally, a book isn't limited to UK bookshops and wholesalers. The same listing that makes a book available to a UK bookshop also makes it visible to international retailers and wholesalers connected to the IngramSpark network, without needing a separate setup or a second production run for overseas availability.
