Our Story

Britannia Publishing House was built to give authors a genuine, professional path to publishing their own work, guided by people who understand publishing from the inside.

Publishing a book is a milestone, often years in the making, and how that experience goes matters as much as the finished result. Every author who works with Britannia gets a named consultant, a documented process, and honest guidance from people who've worked across the literary industry, not a generic package applied without anyone having read their manuscript.

How Britannia Started

Britannia Publishing House started three years ago, when Caroline Asif brought together a small team of five people from different corners of the literary industry, editors, designers, and people who understood publishing from the inside, around a shared frustration: too many authors were giving up on their books before they ever reached a reader.

Part of that came down to vanity publishers, companies that took an author's money and their manuscript, then delivered little in return, often leaving authors with nothing to show for it and no real understanding of what had gone wrong. But the deeper problem was that most authors treated publication as the finish line, when it's closer to the starting point. A book that's technically published but never positioned, distributed properly, or marketed at all rarely reaches anyone, and rarely earns anything either.

Britannia was built to fix both problems: to give authors a genuine, professional path to publishing their own work, and to make sure they understood what actually happens after a book goes live, not just how to get it there. What began as five people working together without a formal structure became a registered company in 2025, Britannia Publishing House Ltd, Company No. 16937618, as the work itself grew into something built to last.

Staying Ahead of Vanity Publishing

The market has shifted since Britannia started. Vanity publishers haven't disappeared, some have simply started copying the language and structure of legitimate assisted self-publishing companies, without the standards behind them. Britannia's response has been to keep evolving how manuscripts are evaluated, produced and published, and to be deliberate about what's made public and what isn't, since authors aren't the only people who read this website.
