Every Service Needed to Publish Properly

From manuscript evaluation through to a finished, retail-ready book, each service below covers one part of the process. Used alone or combined, depending on what a manuscript actually needs.

Editing

Not every manuscript needs the same treatment. A first evaluation decides whether a book needs full developmental work, a lighter line edit, or simply a copy edit to tidy grammar and consistency, and that decision shapes everything that follows. Five criteria guide the process throughout: structural coherence, pacing, clarity, grammatical consistency and market readiness. A panel of editors signs off against these before anything moves further, and the author signs off on every change before it's final.

Design and Formatting

A cover starts with the author, not a template. Before any design work begins, we ask what the author already has in mind, then build the trim size, bleed and file format around that direction, to the specifications both print and digital retail require. The interior gets the same treatment, formatted and print-ready, so the files that come out the other end need nothing further done to them.

Ebook and Audiobook Publishing

A properly edited, well-designed book can still go unread if nobody finds it. Once a manuscript is finished, it's converted for ebook release and, where the author chooses it, produced as an audiobook, then distributed through Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, Audible and Kobo. Metadata, categories and pricing are set up as part of that process rather than handed to the author to configure, because that setup is what actually determines whether a reader searching for that kind of book ever sees it.

Book Marketing

No two books sell to the same readers, so no two marketing plans look the same either. What's built depends on the book's genre and audience: social media management, an author website, SEO to support it, and A+ content on Amazon listings, running across pre-launch and post-launch rather than stopping once the book is out.

Print Distribution

A book that only exists on Amazon has no way into an actual bookshop. Every title is produced to the specifications IngramSpark and Gardners require, the two networks UK bookshops, libraries and wholesalers order through, so that door stays open whether an author walks through it at launch or years later.

Ghostwriting

The risk with any ghostwritten book is that it stops sounding like the person whose name is on the cover. To avoid that, a ghostwriter works chapter by chapter, with the author reviewing and approving as they go, not seeing a finished draft for the first time at the end. Once the manuscript is complete, it moves through the same evaluation, editing, design and publishing process as any other book Britannia produces.
